Advent Calendar - December 7 - Fernando Borreda

An actor's dreams and dounts Advent Calendar proudly presents: Ferrnando Borreda from Spain. By first impression Fernando appeared as a macho guy and that is true but just for a tiny part of him. There is so much more to Fernando than that ;-). The word is his:

Everything matters

I proudly say that I am Lina's blog follower. There is a huge space from the person I met in the first acting course to the one who is writing this blog, not in time, but in content.  Today, she is determined to follow her dreams in spite all the huge obstacles that will meet. If this is not enough, she has been able to put her doubts in a blog, so her exposure is hundred times multiplied and the failure, if it happens, will be thousand times more painful. However, she did and does it. She is brave and interesting.

This deserves the greatest of the respect that I would try to correspond with some of the quotes taken during my classes that I consider memorable ones:

·         “Every moment has a meaning in itself”: Nothing should be taken for granted, every phrase, every word is important.

·         “Be specific”. The demand for constant perfection leaves no place for generality.

·         “Acting is doing”:  The same word defines the nature of the art, a word that is intrinsically related with “ACTION”. Contrary to what some people (including many actors) may believe, acting is not feeling, is doing. Why Lina's blog is interesting? because she “does” what she feels

·         “Do not take the easy way out”: Do no give excuses, change the attitudes. Do not go for the easy and pre-fabricated behavior, respond to each moment from what you receive not what you self produce.

·         “Don’t do anything just for doing it”, complacence, conformism or simply accept to be ordinary. The effort to be creative and particular is requested as a part of acting fundamentals, not as an artificial method of acquiring flawed fame or call the attention.

·          “Is not about showing, is about being”: interacting instead of acting, feeling instead of showing, to work off the partner instead of to focus in oneself.

·         “The most important person on stage is: your partner”. The only way to be real is to be able to listen to him/her, being open a affected to what is told by him/her.

….. and once everything is in, …just let it go!
